Me and my team, Iris Murphy and Sophia Thomas had the goal to gain knowledge about human centered research, design and prototyping techniques. We used these insights to develop opportunity statements to drive our design. We practiced performing interviews and utilizing observatory methods. All of this helped us to communicate our ideas visually and physically.
For the leading concept we chose something that all three of us had thought of which was a stick into the pot that looks like a plant. To create this model, I 3D printed both the flower and the stake. For the adjustable arm, we repurposed a telescopic tool magnet by removing the magnet at the end. We also used a flexible plastic gooseneck containing a metal wire, which allows the angle to be adjusted as needed. The light was threaded through the gooseneck and inserted through the hole at the base of the flower.
